17.  அவர்கள் தேவனுக்குபύ பலியிடவில்Ҡψ; தாங்கள் அறியாதவைகளும், தங்கள் பிதாக்கள் பயப்படாதவைகளும், நூதனமாய்த் தோன்றிய புது தெய்வங்களுமாகிய பேய்களுக்கே பலியிட்டார்கள்.

17.  They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not.
