3.  தண்ணீர் வாசலுக்கு முன்னான வீதிக்கு எதிரேயிருந்து காலமேதொடங்கி மத்தியானமட்டும் புருஷருக்கும் ஸ்திரீகளுக்கும், கேட்டு அறியத்தக்க மற்றவர்களுக்கும் முன்பாக அதை வாசித்தான்; சகல ஜனங்களும் நியாயப்பிரமாண புஸ்தகத்திற்குக் கவனமாய்ச் செவிகொடுத்தார்கள்.

3.  And he read therein before the street that was before the water gate from the morning until midday, before the men and the women, and those that could understand; and the ears of all the people were attentive unto the book of the law.
