16.  அவர் நான் என் ஜனமாகிய இஸ்ரவேலை எகிப்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணின நாள் முதற்கொண்டு, என் நாமம் விளங்கும்படி ஒரு ஆலயத்தைக் கட்டவேண்டும் என்று நான் இஸ்ரவேலுடைய எல்லாக் கோத்திரங்களிலுமுள்ள ஒரு பட்டணத்தையும் தெரிந்துகொள்ளாமல் என் ஜனமாகிய இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் அதிகாரியாயிருக்கும்படி தாவீதையே தெரிந்துகொண்டேன் என்றார்.

16.  Since the day that I brought forth my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build an house, that my name might be therein; but I chose David to be over my people Israel.
